Warsaw, "The Paris of the North"

Some call it "The Paris of the North", while others are referring to it as the "Phoenix City". No matter how you see it, Warsaw is a must-visit European destination, a city where tradition meets future every step of the way.

The capital and the largest city of Poland, Warsaw boasts an ambiance that will appeal both to first-time tourists and to those who fall in love with it only to return over and over again. Palaces, royal gardens and grand parks await tourists alongside many aristocratic residences and mansions located near the city center. With its beginnings going as far back as the 12th and 13th century, Warsaw is also known as the "Phoenix City" because it has survived so many wars throughout its history. Most notably, the city had to be painstakingly rebuilt after the extensive damage it suffered in World War II, during which 85% of its buildings were destroyed. The symbol of the capital’s rebirth was an unprecedented post-war re-creation of the Old Town, which in 1980 was put on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, as an example of a nearly complete reconstruction of the original settlement using original town plans and architecture.

Today, the Old Town and the capital's futuristic business district (New Town) coexist, highlighting an interesting mix between modern urban development and eye-catching historical architecture. Whether you're in Warsaw for business purposes or just vacationing, the city will not leave you indifferent. At first, you'll notice some amazing buildings, with different architectural styles to suit everyone's tastes. Apart from the Old and New Town, you have to visit at least some of the following tourist attractions during your stay in Warsaw: Lazienki Krolewskie Park-Palace Complex, Wilanow Park-Palace Complex, the Palace of Culture and Science, Warsaw Rising Museum, Copernicus Science Centre, Multimedia Fountain Park or the places related to Frederic Chopin.

Palaces, churches and architectural clusters are interwoven with the wide open space of squares, parks and city gardens. Substantial portion of undeveloped land, with the essential need for investment, awaits the investors. These areas will play a major role in defining the character and ambience of the city in the upcoming years. Then you'll notice the people of Warsaw, who value character more than anything else. The same people who, in the past, lifted this city up from the ruins today are making their dreams come true by pursuing professional and personal success.

Feel the Hamptonality!

Even if our stopover in Warsaw was short - a good reason to return as soon as possible - we still had a chance to feel the rhythm of the city. We had to be close to the airport, so we've chosen the Hampton by Hilton Airport hotel for our stay. Set in the heart of the biggest business district in Warsaw, alongside many global corporations and local companies, the hotel is just three minutes’ drive from the Warsaw Chopin Airport (1 km) and 15 minutes from the city center (6 km). We can't speak about Hampton Hotels without mentioning the "Hamptonality" word. What does it mean?

In March 2012, Hilton's division officially launched a new advertising campaign dubbed "Feel the Hamptonality" which shined a light on the brand's unique and delightful internal culture. "Hamptonality" is a term that the brand uses to define the proactive and friendly service offered daily to guests by Hampton hotel team members. We've felt the Hamptonality when we checked-in, late in the evening, arriving from Rome. Unlike some hotels we've reviewed before, where - for some unknown reason - the reception staff forgot to smile, here the young employee happily welcomed us, showing he had the Hamptonality feel-good attitude. Which was nice after a long, exhausting day.

Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Airport hotel boasts 116 guest rooms. If you're traveling with your family, you may opt for a room with a sofa bed. Or, if you're travelling on business, you can book a room with a plush, double-sized bed. The hotel also offers well-appointed non-smoking accessible rooms. In this case, guests should expect a queen bed with signature luxurious bedding and proprietary sofa bed, comfortable pillows and crisp linens, 32-inch LCD TV, work desk with task chair and clock radio. If you prefer not to work at the desk, you can use the convenient lapdesk instead. Free high-speed wireless Internet access, a coffee/tea maker and iron with ironing board are also present in the room. For business travellers, Hampton by Hilton Warsaw Airport hotel offers a fully equipped Business Center, fax and printer facilities, while a children's menu, cribs and high chairs contribute to the family's comfort.
